Pupils have regular opportunities to perform in concerts for parents and friends. This sharing of music is an important part in building self esteem and giving encouragement.
Before moving to Henlow, I organised afternoons of music in the beautiful venue of St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh. My pupils played favourite pieces in this friendly, informal event.
Parents, friends and a wider audience of tourists enjoyed an afternoon of music. There was a party atmosphere with refreshments and treats.
Children and adults that played other instruments were also welcome to perform. As well as giving an opportunities to perform, the marathon raised money to support homeless and other charities.
